Just outside the Auberge de la Madone, in Provence, this little red hose snaked across the street and disappeared over the curb and down the hill.

What it carried - what threatened the danger of mort [death] - I cannot begin to imagine.

Not for lack of trying, I might add, although I recall what can come from curiosity being pursued to the discovery of an answer.

Nothing good for the cat, nor likely for me, either.
