But I cannot permit them to fail me - I am, after all, a would-be wordsmith - and I need them to serve me well for the task of drafting of umpteen business plans.

Maybe even more.

I try to keep at least that many works in progress just in case the wind turns right and the crick don't rise. The alternative would be full retirement, and that's not for me.

Writing here is one of my delights, but it can be a distraction from my word searches - not the kind, alas, that are only a click away - and there are times when that's just not acceptable.

This is one of those times.
